How much can you save vaping?

Intro

To say the state of the UK economy has been on everyone’s minds lately would be an understatement. You could be forgiven for wanting off the seemingly never-ending rollercoaster; being constantly bombarded by cheery headlines that tell us we could be entering a second age of austerity, while inflation is going through the roof, energy bills are set to rise by 80% and the UK is slipping into recession. Party.

While all of these things are unfortunately very real and unavoidable, if you smoke on top of that, you can add throwing away £2,000 to £4,600 per year to the list. To put that into perspective, it’s up to nearly double the amount of the energy price cap on the average UK housing energy bill – £2,500. If you’re a smoker, it’s like the cherry on top of your economic ice-cream of woe.

The good news is that by switching to vaping you can save upwards of 7 times as much money, not to mention being 95% safer!

The Staggering Cost of Tobacco

Cigarettes

A pack of 20 tailor-made cigarettes, on average, have gone up a colossal 150% from £5.33 in 2007 to an average cost of £12.72 today:

10 a day:

£44 per week
£193 per month
£2,315 per year

20 a day:

£89 per week
£385 per month
£4,630 per year

Rolling Tobacco

Rolling tobacco, while cheaper than cigarettes, still hits you hard:

30g pouch average cost £17.25 (Tescos) = to approx 60 cigarettes, that’s:

£1,049 per year for 10 a day
£2,098 per year for 20 a day

What are your options?

The two most cost effective routes you can follow are using either disposable vapes or buying your own vape kit. Both options will net you big savings, with owning your own vape kit reaping the biggest rewards for your wallet in the long run.

Things have come a long way since vapes first burst onto the scene back in 2012 and making the switch is much easier than you may realise.

Disposables

Disposable vapes are everywhere at the moment and while not being nearly as economical as owning your own vape kit, they still offer great savings compared to tobacco.

A disposable will set you back about £4.95 for a device that is equivalent to a packet of 20 cigarettes. So already you are looking at over 50% saving. And at Vape Superstore we have a 5 for £20 deal on all disposables saving you a further 19%.

Assuming the use of a disposable a day, the cost looks something like this:

£28 per week
£121 per month
£1,460 per year

That’s 3 times cheaper than a 20 a day cigarette habit.

But if you want to reap the real jaw dropping money saving benefits, you’ll want to get yourself a vape kit.

Vape Kits

The technology in vaping has made owning and using a vape kit easy and stress free, with intuitive design that makes use and upkeep effortless. Today pod vape kits are all the rage as they offer instant on-the-go activation, quick refilling and all day reliability. Here is a quick run down to give you an idea about exactly what it is you need to buy and how often.

The biggest outlay will be your device. The cost of a good starter kit will set you back about £24.95

The Caliburn G2 is a fantastic example, being one of the best beginner pod kits on the market, it’s great for new startters and those looking for a compact on the go vape kit.

The refillable pod system has a top refill system making it easy to top up your e-liquids. Included pods come with meshed coils which provide increased vape flavour in 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm coil resistances. The 0.8ohm coil will give you a looser inhale and will create a good amount of vapour on the exhale. The 1.2ohm coil offers a restricted inhale and modestly cloudy exhale. Both coils come with Pro-FOCS flavour adjusting technology which will give your vape juice a uniquely clean and pure flavour.

Next, your e-liquids. If you are a heavy 20 a day smoker, then you will likely be consuming about 3 x 10ml bottles of 20mg nic salt e-liquid per week, which will set you back £10

Your coils/pods will need to be replaced about every 10 days so you are looking at £9.95 a month.

So taking out the initial outlay of the kit itself, you are looking on average at:

£12 per week
£53 per month
£640 per year

That’s a saving of a whopping £3,990 a year if you are a pack a day smoker! Or if you are a 10 a day smoker £1,995 a year.

If you smoke rollies you’re looking at between a £729 and £1458 yearly saving.

Those are game changing savings not to be sniffed at and can provide a real and tangible motivation to keep you away from the fags.

With savings like that you can literally subsidise your cost of living increase while still getting your fix and saving your health with one simple switch. It’s wins all round.

And there has never been a better time to make the switch with Black Friday coming up. We are offering a huge range of bundle deals on starter kits. Get a kit, with coils and 3 bottles of e-liquid to get you going. 3 for £10 on nic salts will save you over 15% on your next top up.
