Hi I’m Cyril and I work in the Stock Team.
Luke
Hey, I’m Luke, and I work in the Stock Team
Nicole
Hey, I’m Nicole. I work in the Customer Service Department.
How long have you been vaping and how did you begin your vape journey?
Nicole: I have been vaping since 2017, so just roughly around six years. I began my vaping journey when I got a job at another vape store. I was smoking at the time, and really wanted to stop but kept having failed attempts at quitting. Due to the job, I was working in, I didn’t feel it would be professional smelling of cigarettes and try to sell vapes to customers. So whilst at work I vaped and when I went out or home, I smoked till eventually, I began to hate cigarettes and stuck with vaping.
Noodles: I started vaping in 2015 after seeing all these videos of people doing tricks with their clouds, the best one being the ‘jellyfish’, and I thought ‘I want to give that a go!’
Cyril: I would estimate that I have been vaping for around 10 or so years, starting off with the cheap menthol cigarette lookalikes, similar to an Elf Bar Cigalike. However, I quickly progressed through pen kits to mods and tanks.
Luke: I began vaping in 2018 on and off to try to stop smoking and I was able to gradually wean myself off cigarettes.
Tell us about the kit that you use, why you chose it and why you would recommend it.
Nicole: I currently use a Caliburn A3. I wanted something that gave a similar experience to disposables that was simple to use and maintain. It works for me and is a lot more cost-effective than disposables.
Noodles: At the moment I use a Uwell Caliburn Ironfist. I chose it because I was looking for something a bit smaller than what I usually use and Uwell is a reliable brand known for their pod devices. I’d recommend it because the flavour is great and it’s very easy to use.
Cyril: I currently use a Caliburn A3 for on-the-go vaping and then an Argus GT II kit for sub-ohm vaping. I use the A3 due to its size, form factor and ease of refilling. Also, I’ve become used to having a fire button even on a pod vape. The Argus GT II I enjoy because it looks great and has a wide range of wattage to suit whatever I’m feeling and the flavour it produces is really something else.
Luke: I use a Geek Vape H45 kit and would say it is a great compact pod kit that allows you to use all manner of juices.
What is your favourite brand of e-liquid and why?
Nicole: Hmm, fave I would say is Nasty Juice for nostalgia. It was the first juice I started using that I really enjoyed as I’m also big on the menthol/fruit combo which I find they do the perfect balance of.
Noodles: My favourite brand would probably be Doozy Vapes, especially their Temptations range. Doozy have great flavours in their e-liquids.
Cyril: At the moment I would say Zeus Juice, but typically I have stuck with IVG or Anarchist in the past. IVG due to its huge range of flavours and Anarchist as the White (marshmallow, cookie) flavour is a great dessert!
Luke: Zeus Juice is my go-to brand, mainly due to the variety of flavours on offer. Plus they taste great of course!
Tell us about the flavour you are vaping at the moment and what you like about it.
Nicole: At the moment I’m vaping Lemon and Lime by SKE. I feel it’s the perfect juice for the summer, even when the weather isn’t too great, which it hasn’t been – I can at least taste summer! It’s all about imagination. It’s giving ‘tropical’.
Noodles: At the moment I’m vaping a blueberry doughnuts e-liquid by Donuts. I’m quite a fan of dessert flavours and this flavour really does taste like a blueberry doughnut!
Cyril: I love dessert flavours! My go-to flavour at the moment is Zeus Juice Midas Nic Salt 20mg, it has a unique profile with butterscotch and cream and it is very satisfying along with a subtle, warm throat hit.
Luke: I use Helios by Zeus Juice. It’s a lovely blend of peach and apricot which is very refreshing and very, very light.
If you had one piece of advice for someone starting out vaping, what would it be?
Nicole: It’s consistency that creates a habit. It’s also all about experimentation and finding what works for you. I feel every vaper has their thing that works for them, but without trying different flavours, kits, and styles of vaping you won’t ever find it and cigarettes will always be easier. Cheesy quote to end “Nothing good ever came easy.”
Noodles: If you’re looking to quit smoking, start with a higher strength of nicotine, then slowly cut down. You want to make sure you are getting enough nicotine to begin with otherwise you’ll just end up smoking again.
Cyril: Go for an actual kit rather than disposables, they’re much cheaper and you get more variety of flavours, and they’re actually a lot easier to use thank you think.
Luke: Take your time, you aren’t going to find your favourite flavour straight away. Read up about kits and start with something simple, so you aren’t put off. Pre-filled pod kits aren’t a bad shout, they’re cheaper than disposables and just as easy to use.
Starter kit recommendations:
Nicole
Kit – Caliburn A3: Simplicity & Style – It’s perfect for beginners and those who want ease of use, it is really compact, you can take it anywhere and the black matt finish is also very smooth.
E-Liquid – Elf Bull Ice by Elfliq – This is my favourite disposable bar flavour, I love the flavour energy drinks and the flavour profile is so identical it’s scary. Also Rad Candy Cahuna is a fizzy fruity candy I really love and is a definite must-try!
Luke
Kit – Geek Vape Sonder Q. It’s a solid and simple starter pod kit that delivers great flavour and a smooth draw.
E-Liquids – Helios by Zeus Juice is my favourite fruit flavour for my pod kit. If you are looking for shortfills for a sub-ohm kit then I would take a look at the Blow! Range. They have some really tasty fruit combos.
Noodles
Kit – I’d recommend the Aspire Pockex. It’s a really simple kit to start with with a one-button operation and you can change coils while there is still e-liquid in the tank.
E-Liquid – Doozy Temptations Muffin Delight, this is a really nice dessert flavour/ It’s got a good cake base with a hint of cinnamon on the exhale. If you are looking for something more fruity, then Got Salt Tropical Red is a lovely mix of strawberry banana & mango.
I’d recommend both of these flavours because the flavour is just so good, they both really taste like what you’d expect them to!
Cyril
Kit – The XROS 3 Mini is a great little kit that is super easy to use and practically works just like a disposable. It’s what I recommend to anyone starting out or looking for a cheaper alternative to disposables. It’s compact and can be used with any liquid due to the range of pod resistances, and the 1000mAh battery is a big plus as you don’t have to recharge it all the time.
E-Liquid – I would recommend either IVG Salts or Doozy Freebase 50:50 for refillable pod kits. I think they are solid brands that produce some of the best flavours. If you wanted a shortfill for your sub-ohm kit then I’d take a look at Future Juice, they’re new, but they’re good!
